The service includes the procurement, setup, maintenance, support, repair, configuration and troubleshooting of the devices, and of course general advice regarding computing issues.

Areas covered: include the localities of Billericay, Brentwood, Chelmsford, and outlying places within a 20 mile radius of Billericay. Existing customers in the locality of Chingford, Loughton, Woodford, and nearby places will also be served..

If you are having computer, internet access, email or networking problems call the land line: 01277 525 900 or call or text the mobile number 07932 033 579 and ask. Please leave a message if you can't talk to a human as the human may be otherwise engaged when you call.

Call Out: We prefer to visit a site rather than accept an item for "repair", because there are so many interactions taking place in situ that it is better to see what is actually happening with all the components in place and running or not as the case may be.

The main reasons for being called on an emergency are:

Our attitude to your computer.

1. Data Loss Prevention and Retrieval.

The most important component of your IT Installation is your data - what you have spent time storing on it. This is often not fully considered by most users as a computer becomes second nature, and one doesn't really think about what is important. Believe me if you casually respond to a full OS re-install (with a complete re-format of the disk) suggestion with a "Yes", we will try to make sure that you know what will be lost in the process. Most re-installs now over an existing installation will create a directory call <os>.old. You have browser favourites, documents, spreadsheets, photos, sounds, datasets, email addresses, free downloads, paid for downloads, that encrypted password file which has more than 100 varied entries for all the sites you visit, access to your online only accounts (e.g. paypal), air fare booking confirmation documents, easyjet boarding cards that you need to print off, your cv, and so on. Oh and yes, you did mean to get a backup USB drive but never got round to it. So the first step is to make a full copy of your hard drive. Actually we are much more confident when working with your disk when we do this, because there is something to go back to if necessary. . If that cannot be done because the backup process cannot read the drive then there may be a more serious problem. So our objective is data loss prevention at all times (unless impossible).

This will cost you the time of between 15 to 30 minutes, preferably offsite. Data Recovery specialists charge significantly higher charges for low level data recovery. If the disk has to be sent for data recovey, this will take 100 times as long for about 20 plus times the price of the disk.

2. Computing Equipment Value.

The maximum value of the computer is the cost to replace it with a similarly specified new PC. We will not exceed this cost for a repair, unless you have a very good reason for asking.

3. Pricing:

When taking away for problem analysis we will always try to quote you for the work and cost before hand to obtain your agreement. Sometimes it is not possible to give this quote before we have had time to inspect the system. We will then contact you for approval before going ahead with repairs.

4. Fixed Charges:

We make an initial inspection charge of £24 (VAT included). If we cannot then provide a solution we will not charge any more. (It may be that we will advise that a computer is not worth the repair. It may have been overtaken by recent developments, and even if fully working will never run satisfactorily with todays software.) Following that we charge onsite at £48 per hour (VAT included). If there is a need to re-install Windows, that could take up to an hour, doing not much more than staring at a progress bar, which is why we prefer to get the computer back to base so that we can do other things. If we have to run a virus scan the same principal applies. We will try to avoid just sitting around while the meter is running. Half Days and Days can be negotiated.
